Configure central syslog server on TCP port

SCENARIO

Configure esx-01a.corp.local to use vcsa-01b.corp.local as the central syslog server on TCP using the default syslog port

 

For this exercice you can use HOL’S from vmware – Course Catalog – VMware Hands-on Labs

 

  1. Use the shortcuts within Google Chrome to open the web client.

2. Use the credentials in the notes tab to login

3. Edit Advanced System Settings for the host (click the images below to enlarge)

 

  • Set the syslog.global.logHost configuration to: tcp://vcsa-01b.corp.local:514  ( or your lab vcenter name)

 

 

  • Search for all syslog settings

 

  • Set the syslog.global.logHost configuration to: tcp://vcsa-01b.corp.local:514
